Final Thoughts
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me as a potential adoptive parent. I am excited to become a mom and begin this next chapter of my life. While adoption is not a smooth or easy process, I feel certain it is the very best choice for me. I am ready to welcome a child into my heart and home and I hope we can meet in the future.
If chosen as an adoptive parent, I promise...

The Kids in My Life
Visiting my brother is a real treat as I get to spend hours on end playing with my nieces and nephews. We build forts, read books, and invent games. They will make great cousins! My visits to Montana to see my best friend Jill have often included her son and daughter. As they have gotten older, we have taken on new activities such as hiking, kayaking, and camping.
I am connected with my three nieces from my former marriage as well. The amicable...
The People I Love
I moved back to the D.C. area in 2010 to be close to my mom, dad, and brother. They live in Virginia, about an hour from my place, and I visit often. My mom is a kind and tenacious individual who teaches advanced math to high schoolers. My dad is a generous and protective guy who is retired and has taken over the shopping and cooking duties in the home. Both are wonderfully supportive of my desire to start a family. They are thrilled to be grandparents to my brother’s children, buying gifts, reading, playing dress-up, and...
My Home
I bought my condominium on the northwest side of D.C. in 2017 and became part of my building’s tight-knit community. Around here, neighbors help neighbors—loaning tools, sharing food, and offering help when someone is ill.
During the pandemic, my condo has become my home, my office and my classroom. I do virtual therapy sessions here and recently obtained my yoga teacher training certification from home as well. My condo on the sixth floor gets...
My Passions
Although I use many of my vacation days to visit family across the U.S., I like traveling internationally as well. I lived in Guatemala for several years and am fluent in Spanish, so I enjoy making trips to Central and South America and Spain. Last year I went to Africa for the first time. I believe that exposing children to new places and cultures is an amazing way to broaden their horizons and I look forward to many family adventures.

My Daily Life
I love to be outdoors. Biking, hiking, and outdoor gatherings with friends have kept me going during the pandemic. Mountains and beaches are my happy places. I love camping at Assateague Island, where I can wake up, see the horses, sit on the beach and catch some waves. My favorite hike is on a trail near Harper’s Ferry, where my parents took my brother and me when we were little. It continues to be a special place for me and I look forward to taking a little one when they are older.
